Hey you all!

I'm illustrating a children's book about a girl who is
teased at school! I made a piece with pencil watercolours
and then made some strokes with illsutrator.
The second one is made in illustrator..
I'd like an opinion!

I like the top one.

Here's why:
The rendering of the pencils
looks much more natural- than the
digital gradients

the pencil texture in the top one
rounds out the forms more, and lends the illustration more personality and a human tone- that is needed for the human subject of "alienation"

visually there is something to grab hold of; and pull you into the drawing.

just my opinion.
good luck!

Hi Sara, I prefer the top one too. The style gives it more originality. The colors are also more vibrant and the pencil strokes make it more visually interesting than the one at the bottom.

Congrats on the illustration job - Keep us updated!

I agree with them Sara, the first one has more texture in it and the color flows very nice. More credible too for the children to look at.
